The biggest (and only) advantage of having older windows in Quebec is the joy of waking up and discovering the evidence of Mother Nature’s nocturnal magic and mischief.
Every night, she silently adorns our windows with her fabulous frosted creations. As the sun glides across the sky, her designs thaw, drip and freeze again to reveal new interesting patterns and organic shapes on the edges of our window panes. She seems to enjoy gifting us with flocks of birds taking flight, frosted ferns, glistening abstracts and an occasional frost dragon.
Standing Tall, he remembered his roots

Taking a clear picture is tricky and I tell myself that I should set up some lights and a backdrop in order to capture every angle of the fabulous frozen crystal formations I see. But in a way, Nature is telling me to just take a breath and appreciate her ephemeral gift.
Later, the few frosted ferns she allows me to capture in light and pixels becomes a treasured memento of a moment of peaceful bliss and wonder.
The Frosted Fern Bouquet, brought to you by Mother Nature.

Thanks for visiting! Have a wonderful afternoon.

WOW! Those are the most beautiful photos I have ever seen! They really belong in National Geographic magazines. It is so wonderful that you noticed and took action in appreciating the beauty of nature by taking those photos. I am in awe, I don’t think someone could have even thought of such designs for an artwork. Mother nature is quite the artist. Thank you so much for sharing those photos and views, I WILL pay more attention now.
Have a really nice day!
Thanks for your kind words Sophia, I really appreciate you taking the time to visit and comment. Love you my friend!
I remember when i was a child i would stare at frozen windows for long periods, dazzing . It seemed as if time stopped . My thoughts would be recreating the art work and as i daydreamed
I would print my finger over a design and look at it change shape as it melted. These little moments which most of us sometimes overlook are miracle moments which initiate a peaceful joy .
Thank you for sharing these awesome pictures, we really need to connect to mother nature in simplicity remembering to adopte a child’s point of view. Your artist eye has captured the essence
of mother nature’s message which you serve to us as a reminder
to look at beauty with the eyes of the heart.
I enjoy your blog!
Thanks for sharing your story Anne-Marie, I could just see that little girl with her finger on the window. A lovely image. I can’t say that I remember noticing the frost as a child, but thankfully, now that I take the time to notice the little things I realize just how much beauty there is all around us. Thanks for visiting and for taking the time to comment.
