Wecome to 2009

I hope you had a nice holiday season visiting your loved ones.

2008 was a pretty intense year to say the least and I was amazed by the transformation that seemed to have occurred in everyone I saw over the holidays. I was quite overwhelmed by it in fact. I noticed how everyone had become a little older, wiser and more radiant somehow. Boys became men; their voices deep, their shoulders broad and square. Little sisters had matured into confident young women who seemed ready to carve a place for themselves in the world. Soul sisters had shed their invisibility cloaks revealing the true beauty that radiates from within. Even my parents seemed different… more at peace, more open… more laughter, song and joy than ever before in their household.

My son Loik had a few milestones of his own; he turned 6 on the 30th, lost his first baby tooth on the 5th and most importantly to him, he no longer needs a car seat to travel in the car. My baby is all grown up!

I realized that it had been far too long since I had seen everyone… being around those I love gave me a tremendous sense of peace and gratitude and it has carried through to the new year. We have all promised not to let the daily grind prevent us from seeing each other more regularly throughout the year.

I had a number of A Ha moments this year many of which happened in the last 2 weeks. Although I’m still processing everything I learned in the last 365 days, I feel like such a different person that I need to wipe the slate clean and to have a fresh start in my life and with this blog.

I’ve created a new set of goals for the year and I want to make sure that I accomplish all of them. This means more huge changes to my lifestyle and I’m ready for the challenge. I’ll go into more detail in later posts but for now, I just want to say, welcome to 09! Change is in the air and for once in my life, I’m just going to trust and go with the flow.

Peace and love to all

Yanik
