Law of Attraction in action - Loïk and Jack Spice
My son has been asking us for a dog for at least 1 year and a half. He was very clear on what he wanted and was great at reminding us pretty much on a weekly basis.
He used to say: Mom, I want a big black dog and I’m going to call him Jack Spice. We couldn’t get a dog right away but I kept telling him to put it out into the Universe and that one day, his dog would find him. We also had the condition that the dog had to be given to us and had to be from a good home.
A few months ago, we were sitting in a restaurant and our waiter casually asked us if we wanted a puppy. My husband and I looked at each other in amazement and nodded yes to the waiter. A few minutes later, another waitress showed us the cute brown puppy she had for adoption.
Our son took him in his arms and thought he was cute but gave it back to the girl; He’s not my dog; that’s not Jack Spice - he said as he continued to munch on his sandwich.
My husband and I couldn’t believe that a 4 year old would turn down a puppy like that after wanting one for so long but we respected his choice. We had kinda felt this wasn’t the right dog for us either because he had been rescued from a pretty unloving home and he was a rottweiler mixed with a german shepherd…. but we could have been swayed to ignore our intuition had our son gone gaga for him. After all, he was one cute puppy…
Fast forward to this Friday.
My husband goes to the corner store for some bread and comes back with an ad for free puppies.
It’s Jack mom, when can we go get him? - asked Loïk. I wasn’t convinced… I told him we would have to go and see the dog first… Surprisingly, Loïk was very calm and confident about the whole thing.
Turns out he was right… the next morning, Loik and Jack Spice found each other at last. Jack Spice is the perfect dog for us; he comes from a great home, he’s gonna be big, he’s as black as coal and we love him already.
Lesson learned :
Know what you want and be prepared to turn down things that are close, but not exactly what you asked for in the first place.
The universe will open many doors for you, trust your intuition and you will always open the right one.
