Keeping the peace saves the day!
Well, the spontaneous FUN! trip ended up being a wild goose chase for a waterfall that stemmed from “Lost lake”… right after a turn at “Violent winds road”. (I swear this is true) . I don’t have the pictures to prove it though because we forgot to charge the batteries for the camera.
So we drove, and drove and drove some more in a labyrinth of dirt roads that cut through the dense forest. We never found the waterfall but we did find motion sickness! Wouhou! Err… Not so fun after all. ;-(
But you know what? We kept the peace and still had fun just being together so the day wasn’t a total bust.
We learned 3 things on that day:
1 - When you can’t find what you are looking for… stop and ask for directions (cough… my husband was driving.. cough). Or Find something else of interest and have fun now!
2- When you expect too much, there is a chance you’ll be disappointed… learn to expect nothing and be “wowed” every time.
